Description

Despite being one of the most prevalent food allergies in infancy, cow’s milk allergy is still frequently under-recognised, leading to misdiagnosis and inappropriate management.

In this presentation, Paediatric Allergist, Dr Preeti Joshi will discuss the different types of reactions to cow’s milk including both Ig-E and non-IgE mediated immune reactions as well as cow’s milk protein intolerance. She will outline how each of these conditions can be assessed, diagnosed and managed. In addition, she will talk about symptoms in children that are often mistakenly attributed to cow’s milk, leading to unnecessary avoidance of this important nutritional source.
