Lauren Troy is a senior staff specialist in respiratory medicine. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003, with subsequent clinical training at St George and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. She obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012 and was conferred her PhD in 2017. She teaches for the Sydney University Medical School and the Masters of Internal Medicine programs, and provides education for junior doctors and vocational trainees across many forums.Associate Professor Troy has clinical and research expertise in interstitial lung diseases and interventional pulmonology, sitting on multiple Australasian and International Guideline Task Forces in these areas. She had a leadership role in the RPA Hospital and Sydney Local Health District COVID-19 pandemic response. She has recently been appointed Co-Director of the newly established RPA Hospital Institute for Academic Medicine.
