Professor David Hunter is a rheumatologist and clinician-researcher internationally recognised for his leadership in osteoarthritis research. He holds the Florance & Cope Chair of Rheumatology at the University of Sydney and leads the osteoarthritis research team at the Kolling Institute and sees patients at Naia Health in St Leonards, Sydney.

Professor Hunter’s work focuses on improving the lives of people with osteoarthritis through clinical and translational research, spanning disease mechanisms, prevention, clinical trials, models of care, and implementation of evidence into practice. He is ranked as the world’s leading expert in osteoarthritis by Expertscape, serves as Section Editor for osteoarthritis for UpToDate, and is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Osteoarthritis and Cartilage. He has authored more than 800 peer-reviewed publications.

Through his research, clinical leadership, advocacy and education, Professor Hunter is committed to reducing the burden of arthritis and ensuring that people living with osteoarthritis have access to effective, evidence-based and person-centred care.
