Hayley Ryan RN, MBA, GC Wound Management (Distinction), PhD(c), is an internationally recognised Clinical Nurse Consultant, researcher, educator, and Founder and Director of WoundRescue Pty Ltd, a specialist wound and skin integrity service operating across Australia and New Zealand. With more than 20 years of experience across acute, community, primary practice, disability, and digital health settings, she is recognised for her expertise in complex wound management, clinical governance, and health service innovation. Hayley is a Chief Investigator on the NHMRC ENABLE Partnership Grant, a PhD researcher at the University of Newcastle, an Adjunct Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney, and an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Wollongong. She has authored numerous publications, clinical guidelines, systematic reviews, textbooks, and international consensus documents in wound care and skin integrity.

A former Chair of Wounds Australia, Hayley currently serves as Co-Chair of the Australian Government’s Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme (CWCS) Expert Advisory Group and as a Board Director of Diabetes Feet Australia. Her advocacy contributed to the establishment of Australia’s $48 million CWCS, improving access to essential wound care products for thousands of Australians. An award-winning clinician and international keynote speaker, Hayley regularly presents at leading conferences including EWMA, Wounds Australia, Diabetes Feet Australia, and APNA. Her work is driven by a commitment to advancing evidence-based practice, improving health equity, and delivering person-centred care through the philosophy of “healing lives, not just wounds.”
