Prof Creswell Eastman


Creswell Eastman is Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of Sydney and a Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Public Health and current Chairman of the Australian Centre for Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders ( He has led major projects into thyroid disease and Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) in China, Tibet, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia and several Pacific Islands and has been a Consultant on IDD to WHO, UNICEF and the World Bank. He led the National Iodine Nutrition Study conducted on Australian children in 2003-2004. He is the author of the chapter on IDD in the web-based textbook
