Dr Clare Tiedeman is a respiratory physician, early career researcher and clinical lead of the advanced airways service at the John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle.
She has recently completed a clinical fellowship in airways disease in Oxford University Hospitals. Clare is passionate about excellence in clinical care and has been involved in the development of the Clinical Care Standards in COPD.

Dr Chris Davis BSc MBChB DCH DFSRH MRCGP FRACGP FAChAM is a GP and Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine with over 15 years’ clinical experience in alcohol and drug dependence across the UK and Australia. He is the clinical co-founder of Clean Slate Clinic, a social enterprise offering telehealth-based alcohol withdrawal and recovery support. Chris practises across hospital-based withdrawal units, community addiction services, and Clean Slate’s telehealth platform. He has a particular interest in home-based alcohol detox and advocates for greater access to evidence-based alcohol and other drug care within primary health settings.

Jenny is an Australian-trained General Practitioner who is enthusiastic about all aspects of primary care, including addiction medicine. She is a strong believer in the power of incremental change and feels privileged to provide assistance to patients in their recovery journey.

Prof Baber AM is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The University of Sydney. Prof Baber is a life member and Past President of both the Australasian menopause Society and the International Menopause Society. He was editor in chief of Climacteric from 2016-2024 and chair of the scientific programme committee for the 2024 World Congress on Menopause held in Melbourne. His awards include the RANZCOG Distinguished service medal, The IMS Lifetime Achievement and Distinguished Service awards and Membership of The Order of Australia for service to Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Professor Merlin Thomas is a clinician scientist and program leader in the Department of Diabetes at Monash University. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Medicine Science and Founder of RAGE Biotech. His research program is focused on understanding the mechanisms of diabetic complications and developing new opportunities for their prevention and treatment.

He has a broad interest in chronic disease management, diabetes, heart disease and transitional research. He has owned his own practice, worked for NGOs as well as in the community health sector. He believes that primary care and general practice is the key to providing better health outcomes for all Australians.

A/Prof David Sullivan is a physician and chemical pathologist in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. This includes conjoint appointment as Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney Central Clinical School. David has a long-term interest in lipid metabolism with particular emphasis on the environmental component (especially dietary) of gene environment interactions contributing to cardiovascular disease. He has been involved in the early use of many forms of lipid-lowering intervention and has a particular interest in interventions arising from nutritional principles, such as the cholesterol-lowering effect of plant sterols. His other main interest is the improvement of detection and management of severe inherited dyslipidaemia, such as that seen in Familial Hypercholesterolaemia. David has experience in several international clinical posts, including registrarship at the MRC Lipoprotein Unit, Royal Postgraduate School of Medicine, Hammersmith Hospital, London and co-ordination of international clinical studies from the World Health Organization reference lipid laboratory in Wageningen, Netherlands. In addition to his clinical activities in Australia, he has served on numerous clinical committees including the management committees of the LIPID and FIELD trials. Current research interests are focussed on biomarkers and post-prandial metabolism.

Dr Jay Ramanathan is a Senior Staff Specialist Physician working across Liverpool & RPA Hospitals. He has a background in Clinical Pharmacology, General & Geriatric Medicine and works at the Lipid Clinics across both hospitals.

Associate Professor Bernard Shiu is the Clinical Director of Banksia Medical Centre and Geelong Long COVID Clinic in Victoria. He was recognised as the RACGP GP of the Year in 2020, and under his leadership, Banksia Medical Centre was awarded National RACGP General Practice of the Year in 2023.  With a strong clinical focus on Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Long COVID, and other complex chronic conditions, Associate Professor Shiu is deeply committed to advancing patient care in these areas.  In addition to his clinical work, he is an experienced researcher and medical educator with extensive involvement in training both medical students, graduate candidates and healthcare professionals.

Dr Aviv Pudipeddi is a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at Concord Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital, and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. He serves on the GESA IBD Faculty, where he has a key role in education, and has developed a nationwide mentorship program for gastroenterology trainees. Dr Pudipeddi has completed a PhD focused on optimising advanced therapy use in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with particular interests in treatment de-escalation and histological outcomes. His research has been recognised with both national and international awards.

Dr David Lim has been a GP in Newtown for over 30 years and has interests in under and post graduate medical education and also a specific interest in the management of Type 2 Diabetes. David retired after 42 years of GP and medical education in mid 2025. He maintains a keen interest in changes and updates that affect clinical practice.

Scientia Professor Kaarin Anstey is Director of the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute and Senior Principal Research Scientist at NeuRA. Prof Anstey conducts research in the fields of dementia epidemiology, risk reduction, and cognitive aging.
Prof Anstey developed the CogDrisk which is the only Australian dementia risk assessment tool. She currently leads CogCoach-Health, a trial to evaluate risk reduction in people with mild cognitive disorders.
Prof Anstey is a member of the World Dementia Council, and a member of the World Health Organisation Guideline Development Group for risk reduction. In 2025 she was awarded the NSW Premier’s Award for Excellence in Biological and Medical Science.

Dr Ramya Raman is a Specialist General Practitioner, medical educator, and health policy leader. Raised in Orange in Central West NSW, where she lived for over 15 years, she brings a deep, lived understanding of rural and community healthcare to her work.
Now based in Perth for nearly two decades, she is the Director of The Garden Family Medical Clinic in Piara Waters, where she continues in clinical practice and leads a modern, forward-thinking teaching practice. She is also Discipline Head of General Practice at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, leading the training of future doctors.
Recognised as RACGP WA GP of the Year (2020) and AMA (WA) Advocate of the Year (2024), her leadership is driven by a clear principle: strengthening general practice is essential to strengthening Australia’s health system.

Professor Tom Snelling is a clinical scientist, Director of Health and Clinical Analytics in the School of Public Health at The University of Sydney, and an infectious diseases physician at Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. He has particular interest in vaccine preventable diseases and application of decision theory to research design. He leads a team of researchers aiming to improve healthcare and reduce the burden of infectious disease by implementing learning health systems.

Prof Snelling applies Bayesian approaches to the design, implementation, and analysis of public health studies, and is successfully leading a suite of multi-institutional collaborative projects across Australia covering a range of clinical domains. These include improving treatment and prevention of severe gastroenteritis in remote Aboriginal children, primary prevention of food allergies in children, SMS text messages to improve timeliness of routine immunisation, and improving management of cystic fibrosis.

A/Prof Geoff Lester is an Australian-trained Vascular Medicine Physician based in Melbourne who leads the Marfan and Inherited Aortopathy statewide referral clinic at Alfred Health. He is the only Vascular Medicine specialist consulting privately in Victoria and specialises in complex genetic and acquired aortic and cardiovascular conditions, working closely with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons and geneticists to provide integrated medical management, surveillance and prevention.

A/Prof Lester trained across major tertiary centres in New South Wales and Victoria, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, MonashHeart, the Victorian Heart Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. He has training in cardiology and internal medicine, having obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General and Acute Care Medicine in 2025. He completed post-fellowship training in vascular and perioperative medicine at The Alfred Hospital.

He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University. He holds several national leadership roles, including as National Ambassador for the Heart Foundation, National Lead of the THINK Aorta ANZ campaign, one of only two Australian specialists in the International Aortic Network, Non-Executive Director of Hearts4Heart and medical advisory committee member for Connective Disease Tissue Network Australia. He is frequently invited to speak on the intersection of patient experience, clinical medicine and health system reform.
