Susan Rossell is Professor of Eating Disorders at InsideOut Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney, and Honorary Professorial Fellow in Psychiatry at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. She also serves as Co-Chair of MAGNET, the Australian mental health clinical trial network, and is Professor of Cognitive Neuropsychology and Director of Clinical Trials at Swinburne University of Technology.

As a research-focused academic, she is a world-leading clinical trialist and neuropsychologist in the field of body image and eating disorders. From 2018-2023, SciVal ranked her within the top 5% globally for her research on “cognitive dysfunction” in mental health. ExpertScape and Scopus rank her #1 globally in body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and #1 in Australia (and #5 globally) for cognition.

Professor Rossell trained at the University of Manchester and King’s College London, and held a lectureship at the University of Oxford prior to moving to Australia. She has since held academic and research positions at Macquarie University, University of Melbourne, and Monash University.

Dr Nadia Tejani is a dedicated Endocrinologist with extensive experience in both public and private practice. She runs the Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) clinic at Fairfield Hospital and delivers comprehensive care in private practice for diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, thyroid disorders, and PCOS. Passionate about patient-centred care, she develops individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr Tejani has contributed to the TOBOGGAN trial, actively teaches junior residents and registrars, and maintains a conjoint appointment with UNSW. She regularly attends national and international conferences to stay at the forefront of endocrinology.

Dr Georgia Rigas is an obesity doctor who leads the medical management arm of the Bariatric Unit at St George Private Hospital, Sydney, Australia’s first internationally accredited Bariatric Centre of Excellence. She brings a holistic care approach to the management of people living with obesity. One of her key primary focus areas is the multi-generational effects of obesity. She is committed to providing clear and effective communication with patients, being open and transparent, and practicing ethically, by recommending effective evidence-based treatments.

She services at the NSW State Lead for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Specific Interests Group in Obesity Management and is actively involved in GP education through national conferences and webinars. She is the founder of Enlighten Me, a GP-led model of multidisciplinary weight management care.

Dr Aaron Wong is a Palliative Care Physician based in Melbourne, Victoria. He currently serves as Clinical Director of Supportive amd Palliative Care at Eastern Health and holds honorary academic and research appointments with the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Dr Wong has extensive expertise in the care of older people and patients with advanced illness, with particular interests in dementia, delirium, frailty, polypharmacy, multimorbidity, supportive care, cancer pain and symptom management, and end-of-life care. His clinical practice is focused on delivering holistic, patient-centred care that optimises quality of life across the continuum of illness.

Dr Rosenbaum is an experienced consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist working at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, University Hospital Geelong and Cabrini Hospital Malvern.

He graduated from Monash University, Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MBBS, Hons) and then trained at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. In 2012-2013, he was awarded a postgraduate Clinical Academic Fellowship in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.

In his role at the Royal Children’s Hospital, he is clinical lead of endoscopy services ensuring high quality, safe and efficient provision of care. This includes supervision and education of trainees.

In addition to clinical work, Dr Rosenbaum is a committee member of the Victorian Medical Council of Safer Care Victoria, Private Practice Council of Australian Medical Association (AMA), Australia and New Zealand Gastroenterology International Training Association (ANZGITA) and also volunteers with Taking Paediatric Abroad (TPA) program.

He is also an honorary research fellow at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and regularly participates and collaborates in national and international research projects. Dr Rosenbaum also regularly reviews articles for several high impact journals. Dr Rosenbaum is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and accredited with the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE).

Dr Aviv Pudipeddi is a Staff Specialist Gastroenterologist at Concord Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital, and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. He serves on the GESA IBD Faculty, where he has a key role in education, and has developed a nationwide mentorship program for gastroenterology trainees. Dr Pudipeddi has completed a PhD focused on optimising advanced therapy use in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with particular interests in treatment de-escalation and histological outcomes. His research has been recognised with both national and international awards.
Dr Susannah Graham is a specialist general surgeon with subspecialty training in breast and endocrine surgery. She has experience and expertise in the use of oncoplastic techniques for the treatment of breast cancer. Dr Graham holds VMO appointments at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, St George Private Hospital, Kareena Private Hospital and Kingsway Day Surgery. She is also a full member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand, the specialty society for surgeons treating breast cancer.

Dr Graham prides herself on her ability to empathise with her patients. She knows that her patients’ quality of life and experience through treatment is intimately linked to their physical and emotional health. She is passionate about providing high quality, tailored care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. She maintains excellent communication with her patients and their caring team, most importantly their GP, as she knows that best care is founded upon effective communication.

Dr Rama Kandasamy is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and a Staff Specialist paediatrician at the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he also leads the vaccines trials group and the assisted vaccination service. His key areas of research are paediatric infectious diseases in particular pneumococcal disease.
Dr Tomasz Block is an Endocrinologist with appointments at The Alfred Hospital and the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne. His clinical and academic interests span obesity and metabolic disease, cardiometabolic health, and metabolic bone disorders, with a particular focus on driving the translation of emerging metabolic therapies to address major unmet clinical needs. His research achievements have been supported by competitive funding from the Heart Foundation, the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, and the National Health and Medical Research Council. Dr Block’s current PhD research at the Monash University Department of Diabetes is advancing next-generation RNA therapeutics with the potential to transform the treatment of metabolic disease.
Associate Professor Paul Gow has worked for more than 20 years as a Gastroenterologist and Liver Transplant Specialist at the Austin Hospital and now works in private practice at 18 Martin Street, Heidelberg. Paul investigates and treats all gastroenterological disorders and has particular interest in liver disease (viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease and auto-immune liver diseases).

Paul graduated from Monash University Medicine with honours and completed his Gastroenterology Training at the Austin Hospital in 1998. Following this he subsequently completed an MD in liver physiology through Melbourne University. In 1999/2000 Paul undertook fellowships in liver disease initially at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford UK and subsequently at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham UK.

Paul has more than 170 peer reviewed published research articles in Gastroenterology and has been involved in the supervision in many PHD projects.

He is also the author of a book entitled “Liver Better Life”. The book debunks common misconceptions and offers an in-depth insight into how your liver functions and the steps you can take to improve your liver health. It is published by Pan-MacMillan. Dr Reshad Mirnour is a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician who has undertaken specialist training at Royal Perth Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Perth Children’s Hospital. He has over a decade of experience managing patients with complex conditions. He is an active treating pain specialist with a Masters in Pain Medicine from the Unviversity of Sydney, Currently working as a Pain Medicine Consultant at Royal Perth and Fiona Stanley Hospital. Dr Mirnour possesses a substantial research background in the field of general medicine and neurology.
Dr Rebecca Overton has more than 25 years experience as a General Practitioner, practicing with an interest in paediatrics, women’s health and mental health. She has practised in Australia and Singapore and currently consults at Lindfield Family Medicine. Dr Overton is a GP Advisor to the Black Dog Institute and is actively involved in mental health education, particularly in adolescent wellbeing and youth mental health.
