Webcasts / Healthed Webcast – 25th November 2025
Healthed webcasts are a valuable educational platform, allowing viewers to gain up-to-date clinical knowledge through an easy, time-efficient format. Our free online seminars fill a huge unmet need amongst GPs outside of the major cities for quality, accessible education. Each webcast features four lectures and runs for two hours. While the majority of viewers are GPs, our webcasts are relevant for healthcare professionals including pharmacists and nurses.

Malnutrition and frailty are a growing challenge among older Australians. This talk, by dietitian Professor Carol Wham, will highlight the critical importance of early detection of age-related weakness and how timely intervention through suitable nutritional support can improve outcomes. Professor Wham will also provide practical strategies and tools to enhance early screening and effective community-based interventions, to optimise health and quality of life for older adults.
Obesity and heart failure are closely associated, and now it's been proven that treating the obesity will treat the heart failure. In this talk, cardiologist Professor Andrew Sindone discusses how obesity causes heart failure, especially heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Importantly, he will also provide an update on the recommended management of HFpEF on patients with obesity, that includes using incretin therapy – therapy that has been proven to reduce both heart failure symptoms and mortality.
Low density lipoprotein cholesterol causes atherosclerosis and atherosclerosis is the leading cause of cardiac death in Australia. And that, in a nutshell, is why lowering LDL-C levels is so important, says interventional cardiologist Associate Professor Ron Dick. In this talk, Professor Dick will present the latest evidence to support the focus on LDL-C, he will discuss the new lower targets for LDL-C levels for different at-risk groups and provide an update on the recommended treatments available to manage this major cardiac risk factor.
From next month, new social media age restrictions will take effect. In this talk, Dr Danielle Einstein and Brett Lee will explore what the changes mean for young people, how to support them through the transition, and provide practical tips and strategies to help clinicians support young people and families to navigate the change.
