Our free online seminars fill a huge unmet need amongst GPs outside of the major cities for quality, accessible education. Each webcast features four lectures and runs for two hours. In this talk, paediatrician Dr Anthony Chitti outlines a comprehensive and systematic approach to the assessment and investigation of infants with either macrocephaly or microcephaly. He will also discuss the various differential diagnoses for these conditions that will include normal variants where reassurance is all that is required as well as red flags when more urgent intervention might be needed.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome predominantly affects women and is often associated with other conditions such as reproductive disorders which can make diagnosis challenging. In this talk, clinical nurse and researcher, Dr Marie-Claire Seeley discusses the key features of POTS and how it can be identified and diagnosed in general practice. She will also outline the currently best recommended management for this autonomic disorder, from lifestyle factors to medications.

New evidence and accessible and effective medications have seen a push for GPs to be more proactive when it comes to detecting and treating early chronic kidney disease. In this webcast session, academic GP, Dr Charlotte Hespe and endocrinologist, Dr Ramy Bishay will discuss the latest recommendations for screening and assessing patients for early stage CKD. Using a general practice case study, they will also address the question of how and when to intervene with medication, including the nuances of prescribing the GLP-1 agonists and the PBS requirements and restrictions associated with this treatment.

In this very practical talk, paediatric allergist, Dr Sam Mehr covers the full spectrum of peanut allergy management from the initial assessment and accurate diagnosis in infancy to the advice to give the allergic teenager with regard kissing and alcohol. He will also discuss the role of diagnostic testing, oral immunotherapy and adrenalin autoinjectors.
