Dr David Lim speaks with sleep scientist and clinical physiologist, Philip Teuwen, about how GPs can more confidently navigate sleep studies for patients with obstructive sleep apnoea and insomnia:

  • Clarify the role of hospital sleep units, commercial labs, and community services in assessing sleep apnoea
  • Learn when to use home‑based sleep studies or in‑lab, attended studies
  • Understand the overlap between insomnia symptoms and obstructive sleep apnoea
  • Combine behavioural strategies with device therapy to improve outcomes
