In this episode:

Catching the flu significantly increases the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, hospitalisation for heart failure and increased CV morality
The influenza vaccine can reduce the risk of many of these complications by a magnitude of benefit, similar to cigarette smoking cessation
Ensure all high risk CV patients receive influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations and, if possible, give the vaccines that offer the greatest protection
