Description

In this episode, Dr David Lim speaks with Dermatologist Dr Ritu Gupta about the emerging clinical challenges of rapid weight change, from muscle loss to skin laxity and hair shedding. Together they unpack what Australian GPs should be watching for and how to guide patients through weight change while supporting their functional health and appearance:

  • Explore how rapid weight change can lead to significant loss of lean muscle mass
  • Learn to recognise clinical red flags of rapid weight change
  • Hear how non-surgical body contouring and muscle building technologies can support patients in addition to high load resistance training
  • Consider the psychosocial dimension, including body image shifts after significant weight change and when to suspect body dysmorphic disorder
