Healthed webcasts are a valuable educational platform, allowing viewers to gain up-to-date clinical knowledge through an easy, time-efficient format. Our free online seminars fill a huge unmet need amongst GPs outside of the major cities for quality, accessible education. Each webcast features four lectures and runs for two hours. Topics to be covered

Topical Analgesics for Low Back & Other Musculoskeletal Pain Demystified
Joyce McSwan

Topical agents are the first line option for many musculoskeletal issues but do they work? There is a huge variety of topical agents, only some of which contain NSAIDs, that our patients can and will use when troubled by low back pain or similar musculoskeletal issues. GP recommendations to patients also vary widely. Beyond the lotions and potions, there are also devices such as heat packs as well as "electroceuticals" that are all available in pharmacies and online,. In this talk, I will unpack the evidence for all of these options, explain how and when to use them. I'll focus more time on those options that have some evidence, and will provide you with practical advice on how to correctly implement!

MHT and Endometrial Protection
Prof Rodney Baber AM

Protecting the endometrium is a priority when starting hormone therapy for a symptomatic menopausal woman with an intact uterus. In this talk, menopause expert Professor Rod Baber not only provides the evidence for the role of progestogens in protecting women against endometrial hyperplasia and cancer, but he gives practical guidance for clinicians about which progestogen to use, the dose, the regimen, the follow-up and even what to do about side-effects.

Breast Density and Breast Cancer Risk – What GPs Need to Know
Dr Melissa Bochner

High breast density is both a risk factor for breast cancer and a determinant of reduced sensitivity of standard mammography. Whilst women are increasingly being informed of their density, there are no guidelines for GPs about what to do with this information. In this presentation, breast surgeon, Dr Melissa Bochner will look at aspects of breast density and the approaches to supplemental or alternative screening which may assist GPs when discussing density with patients.

COPD Update
Dr Christopher Worsnop

COPD is a deadly disease. Evidence shows, 50% of people with COPD will die within four years of their first hospitalisation with this condition. What's more, COPD is the leading cause of potentially preventable hospital admissions in Australia. Dr Christopher Worsnop, in this talk will explain what can be done to improve this situation. Dr Worsnop will outline how COPD treatment can be optimised to prevent exacerbations and slow progression of the disease, in particular where, when and how triple therapy should be used and where it is not appropriate.
