Description

Recommendations for GP’s on the detection, assessment and management of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) have recently been published with the aim of addressing key aspects of the management of MCI in primary care. In this episode:

  • When seeing a patient with mild cognitive impairment it is critical for us to know that we are in control, and that we can achieve many positives for the patient’s health
  • How we speak about mild cognitive impairment is important and at some stage discussion must be had regarding an Enduring Power of Attorney
  • Pathways and services are available when a referral is deemed necessary
