1 in 9 GPs infected with COVID in the past two months

The COVID tidal wave is creating staff shortages and delays

GPs are getting knocked out by covid infections for days or weeks at a time, creating spillover work for their already-burned-out colleagues and longer wait times for patients.

A Healthed survey of around 500 GPs suggests that 12% of GPs caught covid in the last two months.

On 5 July, around 38% of GPs had caught COVID at least once, up from 26% on 10 May.

Only 13% of GPs surveyed said no staff in their practices had caught COVID.
