Many more asthma sufferers stand to benefit from biologics but have not yet been put into the right referral pathways.

The issue isn’t around medication hesitancy, but more a gap of knowledge regarding the general awareness of the availability of this medication and the recognition of patients who might benefit from its use, says Dr Greg Katsoulotos.

This is an area that respiratory physicians themselves struggle with, he says.
